computer woes...still! i seem to have about 5 minute windows in which my computer works, so i'm TRYING to keep up with folks...not succeeding very well, i'm afraid!

NOT!! apparently, while talking to jayboitn yesterday morning, i jinxed myslef...i was complaining about doing catch-up work on sunday, since our router has been so fritzy, and not five minutes later after saying "okay, gotta go work" we were booted completely out of the technological realms!

so we went to the beach instead of working. AND i finally got the new sewing machine figured out for real...and used it even!

i was telling Lisa the other day about how i was inspired by the pot of water i managed to burn (yes, seriously...i got to messing around and forgot about it!)...cuz after i smelled the burning metal smell, i found this on the bottom of the pot..

this somehow got translated over to this...which is my portion of the D & Q RR...

it's kinda funny to think where inspiration comes from sometimes! (and the barbie was s'posed to be part of Barbes shrine but ended up not being used...she needed a "redo")

that's all for now...don't want to write a big ol' entry, just in case the comp decides to eat it, lol! hope everyone had a good weekend...apologies if i never answered something or commented! (or better yet, managed to reply 3 times!)

that's what today's been so far! aLOT of reading and lounging, as our router appears to be on the fritz again...which is kinda good cuz it's kept me from putzing online all day!

worked on my canvas for the Drawn and Quartered RR...let's just say that museinspiredart has NOTHING to fear from me, lol! maybe i'll post some pics later on if the computer's still running by then. it turned out quite a bit different than i had planned, since originally i'd planned on painting a central figure, but ended up using the "mummified" barbie that was originally gonna be for Barbes shrine.

enchylatta i have to confess to finishing the pot of coffee! (but i didn't make another one at least, lol!) trying NOT to take a nap right now...whoever thinks it's a good idea to have the garbage trucks come around at five in the morning should be forced to deal with me when the mid-afternoon crash happens! and of course the trash chute/dumpster is right on our end of the building, 1 floor below us.

hmn...maybe i should go and actually figure out my artfest classes for real! that'll get me thru till the next wind. speaking of which...has anyone here heard of the Penland craft school? one of these days i want to take some classes there...they offer an AMAZING variety...if you haven't checked them out, ya should!

interesting day yesterday...okay, maybe not all **that** interesting, but at least not boring! spent most of the day working on assorted projects, drank WAAAAAY too much coffee, finally got the car dealt with from where i backed it into the tree in texas, and drove around some interesting parts of miami in the process...there are some VERY cool old buildings here! tres cute.

but what was REALLY fun was getting a surprise phonecall from tattooedartgirl!! yup, Barbe was subjected to my mile-a-minute rambling for a good lil bit of time there! it's soooo nice to be able to put a voice to the face...and what a lovely voice she has! (next time tho, barbe, let me know 2 hrs in advance, and i'll stop drinking coffee beforehand,lol!)

so, what is up with people doing the whole balatant rip off thing?! three different friends have had this happen this week....not "inspired by"...blatant rip offs! first there was museinspiredart, then hauntedholidays and now tricia_joy! (who says it also happened to karen and goldleafgoddess)

in all three cases the rip-offs were of such poor design to border on frightening ...particularily tricias copycat....YIKES! that thing was scary, and not in a cool way, lol!

so, we finally got to see "Constantine" last night, and shockingly it wasn't that bad! even keanu didn't annoy me as much as usual.

the true highlight, tho? Tilda Swinton as the Archangel Gabriel! she was freaking HAWT!! i could TOTALLY see her as Lucifer if they ever adapt that series. H-O-T! in my humble opinion, she made the movie...but i tend to love anything she does anyways.

you know what i realized? i talk about food **alot!** when did i become such a foodie?! well, actually i guess i've always been pretty into food...must just be the fact that right now we're in an area where we can get GOOD food, lol! but BRandy?! i used to hate that stuff!! (okay, technically the brandy wasn't my idea, but...) i guess tastes really do change, in the literal sense.

the irony is that even tho i luvs me some good foods, i'm also the one notorious for NOT eating, and having to be reminded to eat. otherwise, watch out...low blood sugar=very crank cynjon.

FINALLY! i managed to procure one of tricia_joys ornies! and i gotta say, even tho i'm sure i'll contradict myself at some point in the future as she graces us with more goodness, that this is one of my faves of hers! first, it's a boy! second, it's blue!! third, he's got big hands!!! (minds out of the gutters folks, i just have a **thing** for hands...they're high up on my list of "cool body parts i like to see exaggerated")

YAY, ME! the irony is, i went to the comic book store earlier, with 3 hrs before the auction ended (i suck at watching auctions) figuring PLENTY of time! nope, forgot about traffic! made it back with 3 minutes! yikes!

okay, enough "me so happy."

but while we're on the topic of Tricia and ornies, i want to say that i was a bit hesitant to post links to my own doll auctions, out of fear of people going "well, that sure is nice that he's ripping off her idea" or whatever. so, just so y'all know, she has given both her blessing and her encouragement in this...as she has said, the doll body is a blank canvas, for each person to interpret differently, and i **do** think that mine are pretty different than hers.

anyhoo, i just wanted to put that out there! (esp as i've quite enjoyed playing with those lil guys, and probably couldn't stop!)

i've been singing (okay, humming) "dance of the sugarplum fairie" since i woke up at 6am. no idea why...it's not like i heard it anytime recently! i s'pose it's better than "highway to hell," which was stuck in my head for most of the last week.

grrremlinski, you need to pick up "The Meq" by steven cash...you'll be glad you did. this book rocks. i started it yesterday afternoon, and sat up till about 3am reading...had to put it down when my eyes wouldn't focus! alien_anomaly it'll probably be heading your way pretty quickly, lol!

anyone reading Harry Potter notice there seems to be a lot of drinking and drug use going on at Hogwarts? SERIOUSLY! half the characters were either drunk or drinking half the time it seems. and the effects of "felix felicitus?" hello?! what's next, a rave in the room of requirement?

the plan for today is to get more stuff ready for ebay/artcetera...i need to make a point of having stuff up continuously. this does entail figuring out the new sewing machine, which has been sitting on the table looking at me since the last time i talked about it! also want to do some mini-collages...just have a variety of things up in different price ranges.

so, i spent the past 1 1/2 hrs with a cell phone glued to my ear, sitting in on the co-wide board (bored?) meeting...my ear hurts. along with my brain. about 45 minutes into it, the lump of mashed squash i usually refer to as "my brain" began to wander...this is nothing new. it's common knowledge i have the attention span of an inebriated hummingbird. so, in an attempt to at least keep myself awake, i did this....

so, if i get fired, at least i can say it was tricias fault, and then she will have to adopt me and pay for all my living costs...and i like expensive things. alot. pug sitting services will be provided gratis, tho.

my favorite quote of the meeting? "charles and jason are in miami scrubbing the datafiles, and they're very detail oriented..." UMMMMM...thanks? no, wait, what i mean to say is that the datafiles shouldn't NEED us to scrub them!!

BLEGH on corporate america. too bad they pay well. and that i like expensive things. see icon.

on the flip side, however, despite being relatively absent from lj, i've **actually** been having a pretty good past few days...well, i tend to have good days in general, but didn't want the above to indicate otherwise, lol! been quite busy both with fun stuff and with work stuff...i'm sure i missed SUMTHIN i wanted to talk about w/someone, or forgot to reply back to someone, or forgot to induce insanity in the masses, but i'll get by i s'pose.

speaking of expensive things i want, if anyone has a large surplus of cash, i'd reallllllly like this for christmas...it's behind the cut cuz it's nekkid, and while not alive, some 12 yr old perv might be reading my journal, so...

in truth, a bit on the skinny and blonde side for my tastes, but it'd make a great garden sculpure, no?

TRIED to go to the beach this weekend, but everytime we left the house it would begin to rain! the plus side of this is it blew down more of the palm thingies, so now i have some to send to
tattooedartgirl...the last time it happened, we just laughe and kept on driving...went by some gay bar, but it looked even a bit too divey for my somewhat seedy tastes...so we carried on to the thai restaurant...which, while cute, blew chunks. the whole point of thai food is flavor, right?
luckily, what i didn't eat at the restaraunt (i.e. ALL of it) i brought home and made my own peanut sauce for...take THAT bland thai place!!

okay, i AM feeling cynical...just a bit, tho. really. it'll all be better in a bit, after i have a soak in the tub and charlie pops the cork on the wine he got earlier. yup, that's right. watch out folks, we's gonna get rowdy. apologies in advance for anything said later...assuming i don't just fall asleep.
